Our lichstyle works are inspired in the figure of Roy Lichtenstein (New York 1949 - 1997). Graphic artist, painter and sculptor, head of por art among Andy Warhol.
Now shortly we show you some information about his professsional life and works.
He started to try out with the images taken from the chewing gum package and comercials.
His comics were cartoon character enlargements, handmade reproduced using the same dot techique and primary colours that was used to to print them.
Visual lenguage and typographie, the way he put the text and the image from the comic books has been taken from commercial lenguage. These creative mecanisms helped Lichtenstein, his portraits tried to be neutral and showed the things as they really were: no feelings, no actitudes, acting as an advertising designer does.
His last works, with pink press stars, stylized landscapes and postal cards of ancient temples were hardly influenciated by Henri Matisse and Pablo Picasso.
